CONTENT OF THE LESSON

INTRODUCTION

God calls His people to know Him, obey Him, serve Him and carry out His plans. Throughout the Bible, God called different people for special purposes and gave them instructions to follow.

When God calls a person, the person should listen, trust Him and obey His instructions. Abraham is an important example of someone who responded to God’s call with faith and obedience.

In this lesson, pupils will learn about why God calls His people, the reasons for God’s call, and the call of Abraham.

MEANING OF GOD CALLS HIS PEOPLE

God calls His people when He invites or instructs them to follow Him, serve Him, obey His instructions, or carry out a special purpose.

God can call people in different ways. His call may be through the Bible, prayer, dreams, visions, or through His servants.

WHY GOD CALLS HIS PEOPLE

God calls His people to:

1. Know Him – To understand and follow God.

2. Serve Him – To use their abilities to do God’s work.

3. Obey Him – To follow His instructions.

4. Fulfil His purpose – To carry out the work He has given them.

5. Help others – To care for and assist people in need.

6. Lead others – To guide people in the right way.

7. Spread His message – To tell others about God’s word.

HOW WE SHOULD RESPOND TO GOD’S CALL

When God calls us, we should:

1. Listen carefully.

2. Have faith in God.

3. Obey His instructions.

4. Trust His promises.

5. Be willing to serve Him.

6. Pray for guidance.

EXAMPLE OF GOD’S CALL

Abraham is an important example of someone God called. God told Abraham to leave his country, his relatives and his father’s household and go to a land that He would show him. Abraham obeyed God and went as instructed.
