PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –
1. identify the pieces of home furnishings and furniture found in the different functional rooms in the home.
2. state the uses of each piece of home furnishings and furniture found in the home.
3. group according to where they are found.
ENTRY BEHAVIOUR
The pupils can identify where each of the Different home furnishings and furniture can be found in the home.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:
1. Pieces of furnishings and furniture found in the home, e.g. bed, chairs, mat, table, mattress, etc.
2. Relevant pictures to show home furniture.
METHOD OF TEACHING
Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES
Teacher’s Activities – Display different charts showing different home furnishings and furnitures for the pupils to identify and group according to where they are found.
Pupil’s Activities – Group pictures according to the functional rooms where they are found.
Teacher’s Activities – Good job you for active participation. Guide the pupils to write each item on a chart in a tabular form before their note.

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Display real objects or pictures/charts of furnishings and furniture found in the home.
Pupil’s Activities – Group pictures according to the functional rooms where they are found.
3. Summarizes the lesson on the board.
Pupil’s Activities – Copy as the teacher writes.

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
