PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils should have attained the following objectives –

1. explain what arts is.

2. identify the basic works of arts.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of Pictures, Real Arts, Pencils, Crayons, Drawing, Books.

 

METHOD OF TEACHING

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON ONE – INTRODUCTION

MEANING OF ARTS 

Arts means drawing and painting something.

It is making something beautiful.

 

DRAWING AND COLOUR 

Ask pupils to draw and colour.

 

LESSON 2 – MAKING ARTS WITH PAPER 

Arts also means making beautiful things or making something beautiful.

Examples of these beautiful things are –

  • cup
  • basket and clothes.

Some of them are used in the home.

Examples are hand fans, mats and jugs.

 

MAKING SIMPLE ARTWORK

Help pupils to make simple art work like greeting card, wall chart, etc.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Displays chart showing different artwork with painting or colour.

3. Lets pupils examine and identify the artwork.

Pupil’s Activities – Identify and appreciate the artwork.

4. Relates the artwork and explain the meaning of art.

Pupil’s Activities – Listen and explain the meaning of art.

5. Guides pupils to make basic art with paper.

 

Pupil’s Activities – Participate actively in the paper work.

6. Summarizes the lesson on the board.

Pupils Activities – Copy as the teacher instructed.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
