CONTENT OF THE LESSON
INTRODUCTION
Many of the items we use every day, such as tables, chairs, doors, beds, cupboards, and shelves, are made from wood. The process of making, repairing, and designing these wooden items is called woodwork.
People who make wooden objects use different hand tools to measure, cut, shape, bore, hold, and join pieces of wood. Each tool has a special purpose and must be used correctly and safely.
In this lesson, pupils will learn the meaning of woodwork, the meaning of hand tools, and the different classes of hand tools used in woodwork. They will also learn the uses of these tools and the importance of handling them safely.
