TOPIC – MAKING AND REPORTING REQUESTS AND DEMANDS
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –
1. Give the right pronunciation, intonation, stress and pitch in every sentence.
2. Turn each sentence into reported form; observe the sequence of tense rule.

MAKING AND REPORTING REQUESTS, REPORTS AND DEMANDS
REQUEST 1
Ayomide: ‘I want my rule’
Reporter: Ayomide said he wanted his ruler.
REQUEST 2
Michael: ‘Please, give me an orange’.
Reporter: Michael asked for an orange.
Or
Michael requested for an orange.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Prepares sentences in direct speech uses them along with those prepared by pupils.
Pupil’s Activities – Listen and understand how to make requests and demands. Change sentences into reported sentences.
2. Gives more practice using passages or scenes from plays.
Pupil’s Activities – Make sentences of their own in meaningful situations writing pairs, groups or class.
CONCLUSION
- To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
