PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to:

  1. identify sources of water supply.
  2. state uses of water.

ENTRY BEHAVIOR

The pupils are required to already know uses of water.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE – land transportation.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of chart of different sources of water.

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON 

WATER 

Water is a necessities of life. Humans, plants and animals depend on water for survival. Water is a natural liquid that comes from rain, rivers, stream, lakes and seas, etc. Water is a common natural liquid.

PRESENTATION

  • To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
  1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
  2. Guides the pupils to identify different sources of water.
  3. Pupil’s Activities – Identify different sources of water.
  4. Guides the pupils to state the uses of water.
  5. Pupil’s Activities – State different uses of water. 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson – water II.
