CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION

MEANING OF A FAMILY

Family is made up of father, mother and their children.

A family is made of other people who are related to one another by blood. This family is called extended family.

 

TYPES OF FAMILY

There are two types of family.

1. Nuclear family

2. Extended family

 

ASSIGNMENT – Find out the different between nuclear and extended families.

 

LESSON 2 – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT (TEST)

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Displays chart showing different types of family.

3. Lets pupils read the chart.

Pupil’s Activities – Identify each member of the family.

4. Uses the chart to explain the meaning and types of family.

Pupil’s Activities – Listen to the teacher’s explanation.

5. Leads pupils to identify types of family.

Pupil’s Activities – Listen and respond to questions in class.

6. Summary the lesson on the board.
