3. understand the different between big and small house.

The children can identify some of the rooms in the house depending on the type of house they live in.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

DIFFERENT ROOMS IN THE HOUSE

WHAT IS A HOUSE? 

A house is a building that is made by humans to live in. A house is also call a shelter. In the house, there are many rooms. Each room is different from the others.

 

WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF ROOMS IN THE HOUSE? 

1. The sitting room

2. The bedroom(s)

3. The kitchen and the store

4. The toilet

5. The bathroom

 

THE SITTING ROOM

The sitting room is also known as the living room. It is the biggest room in a house. It is a place where we sit and relax while we watch Television or listen to music. Our visitors also stay in sitting room.

 

THE BEDROOMS 

The bedroom is a room in a house where is bed and used for sleeping. There are different types of bedroom. The master bedroom, the children’s bedroom and the guest room. The master bedroom is the biggest room in a room. It is where dad and mom sleep. The children sleep in their room. While the guest stay in the guest room.

 

THE KITCHEN AND THE STORE 

The kitchen is a room in there where we cook our food. While the store is a room where we store our food items.

 

THE BATHROOM 

The bathroom is a room where we take our bath.

 

THE TOILET 

The toilet is sometimes called the restroom. It is used get rid of urine or waste from your body.

 

THE BIG HOUSE AND SMALL SMALL 

The different between big house and small house are,

1. Big house has rooms than the small house.

2. Big house has more bathrooms/toilets than the small house.

3. The cost of building big house is higher than the small house.

4. Small house is easy to clean.

 

LESSON PRESENTATION

To deliver this lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. Teacher displays chart showing different rooms in the house for the children to identify and describe.

Children’s Activities – The children identify and describe some of the rooms like parlour as commonly called, kitchen, toilet, etc.

2. Teacher point to each room one after the other and asks, what is this…. for the children to identify and describe the living room, bedroom, etc.

Children’s Activities – The children identify and describe some/most of the rooms in the house.

4. Teacher uses the chart and the children’s relevant responses to introduce the lesson and explains the meaning of house and the functions of different rooms in the house. 

Children’s Activities – The children pay attention to the lesson introduction, understand the meaning of house and the functions of different rooms in the house.

5. Teacher uses two hand made houses, one big house and one small to guides and explain the different between the two houses.

Children’s Activities – The children listen attentively to understand the different between big house and small house.

6. Teacher summarizes the lesson by asking the children questions based on the lesson taught and gives the children work to do at home.

Children’s Activities – The children participate actively in the summary of the lesson by responding to the questions and do their homework at home.
