CONTENT OF THE LESSON
LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION
Rules and regulations are important because they help to obtain and continue a balanced level of safety, fairness, order and justice. Rules and regulations help us learn and prepare for living in a better and wider society.
IMPORTANCE OF OBEYING GOVERNMENT RULES AND REGULATIONS
The most important reasons on why you should obey are,
1. It keeps everyone safe.
2. It makes everyone feel comfortable.
3. It creates a better society.
4. It helps to maintain level of safety, fairness, order and justice.
5. It prepares for living in bigger society.
LESSON 2 – CONSEQUENCES OF DISOBEYING GOVERNMENT RULES AND REGULATIONS
It is a crime to disobey the government rules and regulations. Not obeying government rules and regulations is like breaking the law because rules and regulations are made by law.
Anyone that disobey the rules and regulations get,
1. Fines
2. Legal action
3. Imprisonment
4. Loss of privileges or rights
5. Get arrest
6. Carry out community service
7. Apologise to the victim
LESSON 3 – WAYS TO MAKE PEOPLE FOLLOW THE SET RULES AND REGULATIONS
There are many ways to make people follow the laid down rules and regulations.
1. Give the people reasons to follow the rules and regulations.
2. Eliminate all the elements of confusion in the rules and regulations.
3. Provide an explanation for the rules and regulations.
4. Get everyone on the same side.
5. Lead by example.
6. Set up enforcement agencies.
7. State clearly the consequences of disobeying the rules and regulations.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Teacher organizes the pupils in groups depending on the size of the law.
3. Teacher designs and displays chart showing school rules and regulations and asks pupils to state the reasons why they should obey them.
4. Teacher encourages active participate among the pupils in the groups.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the group discussion.
5. Teacher uses the chart and the pupils relevant responses to introduce the lesson and leads a class discussion on the importance of obeying government rules and regulations.
