CONTENT OF THE LESSON
LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION
Any group of people living together in peace and harmony live by certain rules and regulations. The rules and regulations with the the people who make and administer them is called as a government.
A government is the authority that sets rules and regulations for a society.
REASONS FOR GOVERNMENT RULES AND REGULATIONS
Government sets rules and regulation for its nation, institution and business,
1. To protect lives and properties.
2. To maintain peace and order.
3. To set a standard in our society.
4. To provide adequate safety and security.
5. To be accountable in our society.
6. To foster positive image of our society.
7. To manage and people behaviours.
LESSON 2 – RESULTS OF NOT OBEYING THE GOVERNMENT RULES AND REGULATIONS
It is a crime to disobey the government rules and regulations. Not obeying government rules and regulations is like breaking the law because rules and regulations are made by law.
Anyone that disobey the rules and regulations get,
1. Fines
2. Legal action
3. Imprisonment
4. Loss of privileges or rights
5. Get arrest
6. Carry out community service
7. Apologise to the victim
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Teacher organizes the pupils in groups depending on the size of the law.
3. Teacher displays chart showing the president and the state governor.
4. Teacher allows the pupils in their group to examine, identify and state the duties of the government.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils identify the president and their state governor.
5. Teacher uses the chart and the pupils relevant responses to introduce the lesson and leads a class discussion on government rules and regulations.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils pay attention to the lesson introduction and participate actively in the class discussion on government rules and regulations.
6. Teacher explains government rules and regulations and reasons for them.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils listen to the teacher, discuss and appreciate the importance of government rules and regulations.
7. Teacher uses the chart showing courtroom, prison, people arrested by the police, etc. to leads a class discussion on the results for disobeying government rules and regulations.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the class discussion on results for disobeying government rules and regulations.
8. Teacher summarizes the lesson on the board by using the lesson evaluation.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils pay attention to the summary of the lesson by responding correctly to most of the questions and write as instructed.
CONCLUSION
To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
