INTRODUCTION 

Print making is the process of reproducing text and images on a desired surface.

 

TYPES OF PRINTING 

There are two types of print making, namely:

1. Leaf printing

2. Thumb printing

 

MEANING OF LEAF PRINTING 

Leaf printing is the process of printing or making leaf design on another surface.

This is done by putting ink or dye on leaf and place on another surface (paper).

 

MEANING OF THUMB PRINTING 

Thumb printing is the process of making thumb design with human thumb on a surface (paper or cardboard, etc.).

This is done by putting ink or dye on thumb and place on another surface (paper, cardboard, etc.).

 

 

SUITABLE LEAVES USED IN PRINTING 

1. Fresh leaves with hand veins.

2. Beautifully shaped leaves of various size.

 

MAKING PRINTS WITH LEAVES 

1. Apply a colour to fresh leaves with hand veins.

2. Carefully placed the leaf with colour on cardboard or paper.

 

MAKING PRINTS WITH THUMBS 

1. Apply colour on the thumb.

2. Gently placed your thumb on cardboard or paper.

 

ADVANTAGES OF PRINT MAKING 

The advantages of printing making are as follows:

 

1. It attracts the mass.

2. It is cost effective. That’s, it is cheaper than media printing.

3. It is used for communication or expression.

4. It offers different points of view.

5. It is more effective than the original copy.

6. It can be used as a signature.

7. It used for making design on objects or human body (tattoo).

 

DISADVANTAGES OF PRINT MAKING 

The disadvantages of print making are as follows:

1. It can easily overlooked.

2. It is limited to a certain place.

3. People perception are differ.

4. Sometimes, it confused people.

5. It is not easy to understand.
