TOPIC – GARDENING TOOLS AND CONDITIONS FOR GROWING CROPS

Lesson One – Soil Preparation

Lesson Two – Planting of crops Nurturing of Plant

Lesson Three  Nurturing of Plants

 

TIME – 40 Minutes each

 

LEARNING OUTCOME 

By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

1. Prepare land for growing crops.

2. Making garden beds and sowing seeds

3. Observing and caring for growing plants

4. Taking care of growing plants

 

RATIONALE

Plants are important to human beings.

We grow different kinds of plants such as maize, yam, tomatoes  etc. for human consumption. Soil preparation, panting and nurturing the plants will enable pupils to understand how to grow and take care of growing crops.

 

LEARNING MATERIALS 

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of school garden, hoe, string, some sticks about 50 cm long, cutlass, rake, seeds of okro, maize, tomato, pepper, water.

2. Cutting of grasses
