MICROSOFT POWERPOINT: MEANING OF MICROSOFT POWERPOINT, TYPING AND SAVING MICROSOFT POWERPOINT

Note: Typing and Saving in Microsoft PowerPoint is taught in Week 2 and Week 3, spanning two (2) weeks and covering approximately six (6) periods. Each lesson should be taught practically using a computer to demonstrate how to type and save a presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint.

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

Pupils have previously learned the meaning of Microsoft PowerPoint and how to launch the application. They also learned about the Microsoft PowerPoint window, toolbars, and menu bars.

This lesson builds on that knowledge by teaching pupils how to type text on a PowerPoint slide and save a presentation so that it can be opened, edited, and presented later.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

INTRODUCTION

Microsoft PowerPoint helps users create presentations using slides. After opening PowerPoint, users can type information on the slides and save their work for future use.

In this lesson, pupils will learn the meaning of Microsoft PowerPoint, how to type text on a slide, and the steps involved in saving a PowerPoint presentation.

LESSON 1 – MEANING OF MICROSOFT POWERPOINT

Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation application developed by Microsoft. It is used to create, edit, and present information in the form of slides.

It allows users to combine text, pictures, shapes, charts, audio, and videos to make presentations interesting and easy to understand.

USES OF MICROSOFT POWERPOINT

1. To prepare classroom presentations.

2. To present reports and projects.

3. To display pictures and diagrams.

4. To teach lessons using slides.

5. To present information during meetings and seminars.

LESSON 2 AND LESSON 3 – HOW TO TYPE IN MICROSOFT POWERPOINT (PRACTICAL ACTIVITIES USING COMPUTER)

4. Click inside the Content placeholder and type the required information.

5. Use the Home tab to change the font, size, colour, and style if necessary.

2. Click Save or Save As.

3. Select the folder where you want to save the presentation.

4. Type the file name.

5. Click the Save button.

SUMMARY
