PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, most of the students should have attained the following objectives –

1. explain the meaning of music staff.

2. state the uses of music staff.

3. singing the national and school anthems.

 

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils can sing the national anthem and their school anthem.

 

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of chart showing musical staffs (staves).

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON WEEK 4

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION

Music staff is the foundation upon which musical notes are placed.

It is musical graph that indicates a musical note’s pitch. It nearly impossible to read music without it. Music staff contains five lines and four spaces.

 

 

Each line or space on the staff represents a white key on the keyboard. The music staff is used to clearly communicate musical notation.

 

 

LESSON 2 – NATIONAL ANTHEM MUSIC SHEET

Note – This lesson is two weeks Lesson and it more practical than theory, I will recommend music teacher to take this lesson. If you can’t get one among the teachers, hire one for part time class. Primary 1 – Primary 6 have a lot music lessons in this term. 

 

LESSON 3 – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT (TEST) 

 

CONTENT OF THE LESSON WEEK 5

Since the continue, continue with more songs and their staffs (staves) 

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Teacher organizes the pupils into two or more groups depending on the size of the class.

3. Teacher a national anthem and their school anthem.

4. Teacher displays charts show the staffs (staves) of both the national and school anthems.

5. Teacher uses the chart to introduce the lesson and the musical teacher (if the teacher is not music expert but if he/she is, no need, just continue the lesson) and participate actively as the pupils do.

I will recommend the music teacher to take this lesson. 

Then, the teacher summarizes the lesson on the board using appropriate evaluation.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate actively in the lesson summary and write as instructed.

 

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
