LEARNING OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

1. explain what an interesting experience is.

2. describe an interesting experience using simple sentences.

3. speak fluently and confidently in class.

4. arrange ideas in correct order.

5. use correct vocabulary in oral narration.

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils have practised describing familiar events. In this lesson, they will use that knowledge to talk about an interesting experience they have had.

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

1. Pictures showing different activities (games, trips, events)

2. Flashcards (words like experience, happy, travel, surprise)

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

INTRODUCTION

An interesting experience is something that happens to a person that is exciting, enjoyable, or memorable.

ORAL COMPOSITION: AN INTERESTING EXPERIENCE

One day, I went to a picnic with my family. We travelled early in the morning. The journey was fun because I saw many beautiful places.

When we arrived, we ate food, played games, and took pictures. I also met new friends and we played together.

It was a very happy and interesting experience that I will never forget.

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. The teacher introduces the lesson by asking pupils to mention one interesting thing that has happened to them.

Pupils’ Activities: The pupils respond and share their experiences.

2. The teacher explains the meaning of an interesting experience.

Pupils’ Activities: The pupils listen attentively.

3. The teacher presents and narrates a sample oral composition on “An Interesting Experience.”

Pupils’ Activities: The pupils listen carefully.

4. The teacher explains the beginning, middle, and end of the composition.

Pupils’ Activities: The pupils identify the parts of the story.

5. The teacher guides pupils to retell the story in their own words.

Pupils’ Activities: The pupils speak in simple sentences.

6. The teacher allows pupils to talk about their own interesting experience in front of the class.

Pupils’ Activities: The pupils present their oral composition.

7. The teacher corrects errors in grammar, pronunciation, and sentence structure.
