This lesson builds on that knowledge by helping pupils to read passages on national values such as honesty, respect, and discipline using correct stress and intonation for better understanding and clear expression.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
INTRODUCTION
National values are good behaviours and attitudes that help a country to grow and develop.
Examples of national values include:
- honesty
- respect
- discipline
- hard work
- patriotism
Stress and intonation help us to read words and sentences correctly and express meaning clearly.
In this lesson, pupils will read passages on honesty, respect, and discipline while practicing correct pronunciation and expression.
PASSAGES ON NATIONAL VALUES USING CORRECT STRESS AND INTONATION
Reading Passage 1: Honesty
Honesty is a very important national value. A person who is honest tells the truth at all times. Honest people do not cheat in school or lie to others. When people are honest, society becomes peaceful and trustworthy. We should always practice honesty in our daily lives.
Reading Passage 2: Respect
Respect is another important national value. We should respect our parents, teachers, and elders. Respect helps to build good relationships in society. When we respect others, we will also be respected. Respect brings peace and unity among people.
