DEFINITIONS OF RECREATION, REST AND LEISURE 

RECREATION

Recreation refers to all those activities that people choose to do to refresh their bodies and minds and make their leisure time more interesting and enjoyable. Examples of recreation activities are walking, swimming, meditation, reading, playing games and dancing.

 

REST

Rest is a period of relaxation after the end of one workout and before the start of the next one. It is part of recovery after the workday. So rest includes sleep, time for stillness for both mental and physical wellbeing as well as participation in activities that provide mental and/or physical rejuvenation.

 

LEISURE 

Leisure refers to the free time that people can spend away from their everyday responsibilities (e.g. work and domestic tasks) to rest, relax and enjoy life.

2. It enhance skills development.

3. It promotes international peace and development.

4. It unites international communities.

5. It boosts self confidence and self esteem.
