PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –
1. plan and prepare materials for cleaning the rooms.
2. clean the sitting room from inside to outside after cob webbing.
3. arrange room equipment and materials after cleaning.
4. dust/polish furniture.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:
1. Picture of well arranged sitting room.
2. Chart listing materials for cleaning of a room.
3. Brooms ( short and long), brushes (short and long), polish, soap, water, rag, mop, etc.
METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES
Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Asks the to describe the sitting room and state the materials used for cleaning the sitting.
MATERIALS USED FOR CLEANING THE BEDROOM
1. Brushes, dusters, brooms, (long and short broom).
2. Water
3. Soap and detergents
4. Polish
5. Dust pan
6. Dust bin.
7. Mattress, pillow and cases, bed sheet, bed ( improvised).
STEPS IN CLEANING THE SITTING ROOM
1. Open door and windows in the sitting room.
2. Prepare all the materials for cleaning the sitting room.
3. Take out or lift light furniture, etc.
4. Sweep the sitting room.
REASONS FOR CLEANING THE SITTING ROOM
1. To be tidy.
2. For free flow of air.
3. To be free from dust.
4. For easy relaxation.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Improvises a space in class, if no sitting room is available. And discusses why we need to clean the sitting room.
2. Demonstrate the cleaning process after moving movable furniture.
Pupil’s Activities – Participate in the cleaning process.
3. Guides the pupils how to remove cobweb, sweep, dust, scrub/wash, polish/dust furniture, etc.
Pupil’s Activities – Remove cobwebs, sweep, scrub/wash with teacher directing.
4. Replaces moved furniture.
Pupil’s Activities – Polish furniture and replace furniture and tidy room.
CONCLUSION
- To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
