WEEK 3 – LABOUR FORCE

MEANING OF LABOUR FORCE

Labour force means all the people who are able and willing to work to produce goods and services in a country

Examples of labour force are Farmers, Teachers, Doctors, Traders, Factory workers, etc.

 

WAYS OF TRAINING THE LABOUR FORCE

Training helps workers gain skills and do their work better. Ways include:

1. Formal education – Going to school, colleges, and universities.

2. Vocational training – Learning skills like carpentry, tailoring, mechanics.

3. Apprenticeship – Learning from a skilled worker.

4. On-the-job training – Learning while working.

5. Workshops and seminars – Short training programmes.

 

WAYS TO KEEP THE LABOUR FORCE HEALTHY AND PRODUCTIVE

A healthy worker can work better and longer.

1. Eating balanced diet

2. Going for regular medical check-ups

3. Drinking clean water

4. Keeping the environment clean

5. Exercising regularly

6. Getting enough rest and sleep

7. Using safety tools at work
