PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, most pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –
1. read and write letter A – J.
2. paint letter A – J.
3. Match letter A – J with objects in the environment.
ENTRY BEHAVIOUR
The children can scribble on the paper using pencil and colour pen.

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:
1. Chart of latter A – J.
2. Magnetic Letter A – J.
3. Writing materials – books and pencils.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES
Teacher’s Activities – place magnetic letter A – J on the board and display chart of letter A – J toy for the children identify the equivalent.
For examples,
This is letter A. Show me a letter A.
Pupil’s Activities – This is letter A, B, C, etc.
Teacher’s remark – Comments and give a great cheer for quick response.
READING SKILLS
Teacher’s Activities – Create activities that leads pupils to read after you the letter A – J.

LESSON 2 – WRITING SKILLS
Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Guide the children to write letter A – J by holding their hands to write if possible. Ensure that the children read as they write.

Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Guide the children to paint letter A – J by holding their hands to paint if possible. Ensure that the children read as they paint.

PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Guides children to match letter A – J toys with the magnetic letter A – J on the board.

3. Guide the children to write letter A – J by holding their hands to write if possible. Ensure that the children read as they write.
