LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR
The pupils have already learned how to read simple passages, answer comprehension questions, and understand short stories. They have also been exposed to real-life narrative stories and have practised identifying main ideas in texts.
In this lesson, they will use these skills to read a passage about a football match, understand the sequence of events, and answer questions based on the passage.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
READING PASSAGE: A MEMORABLE FOOTBALL MATCH
Last Friday was a very exciting day in our school. Our school football team played a match against another school. All the pupils went to the field to watch the game.
The match started at 4:00 p.m. Both teams played very well. Our school team wore blue jerseys, while the visiting team wore white jerseys. The players passed the ball quickly and tried their best to score goals.
In the first half, no team scored a goal. In the second half, our school team scored the first goal. The pupils shouted with joy and clapped loudly.
The visiting team tried hard to equalise, but our goalkeeper saved many strong shots. At the end of the match, our school won by 1–0.
Everyone was very happy and proud of the team. It was truly a memorable football match.
