By the end of the lesson, the children should to recall what had been taught on catching the bubbles, athletics, water play, and colour matching. 

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR 

The children can play simple game such as bubble, running, water play and match colour.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS 

The teacher will the lesson with the aid of sample of athletics kit, bubbles kit and colour.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

PLAYING GAMES

Teacher organizes two or more simple games with the support from one or two staff/colleagues.

1. 50 meter race (athletics)

2. Filling the bottle (water game)

3. Catching Bubble

4. Colour match

 

LESSON PRESENTATION

To deliver this lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. Teacher displays chart showing different simple games for the children to identify and describe each game.

Children’s Activities – The children identify and describe different types of game.

2. Teacher takes the children to the field for the outdoor games and return for the indoor.

Children’s Activities – The children participate actively in the indoor and outdoor games.

4. Teacher asks the children how they feel about the games.

Children’s Activities – The children express their feelings and appreciate the importance of playing games.

5. Teacher summarizes the lesson by asking the children questions based on the lesson taught and gives the children work to do at home.

Children’s Activities – The children participate actively in the summary of the lesson by responding to the questions and do their homework at home.

 

LESSON EVALUATION/HOMEWORK

Teacher asks the children to –

1. identify and describe the following games on the chart,

2. Match the colour.
