By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and be able to –
1. State examples of drugs made from interaction between chemicals.
2. List effects of each of heroine, cocaine and sedative.
ENTRY BEHAVIOR
The pupils are required to already have learnt drug and drug abuse.
METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
LESSON ONE – INTRODUCTION
Substance abuse are drug abuse and taking without the doctor’s advice or prescription.
Some substance when taken change the action of the body. Examples of substance are heroine, cocaine, Indian hemp, etc.
EXAMPLES OF DRUGS MADE FROM INTERACTION BETWEEN CHEMICALS
1. Aspirin
2. Paracetamol
3. Cough mixture
4. Chloroquine
5. Chloramphenicol
6. Valium
7. Antibiotics, etc.

PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Explains the meaning of drug abuse;
Pupil’s Activities – Explain the meaning of drug abuse.
3. Discusses the effects of heroine, cocaine and sedative;
Pupil’s Activities – State the specific effects of heroine cocaine and sedative.
4. Gives examples drugs made from interaction between chemicals;
Pupil’s Activities – Mention drugs made from interaction between chemicals.
5. Invites a resource person to give talk on the topic;
Pupil’s Activities – Listen to the resource person and ask appropriate questions.
CONCLUSION
- To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
- Assignment – Find out why we should use drugs according to doctor’s prescription.
