PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, most the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. recall the previous lesson.

2. describe the steps in taking a bath.

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils can identify and state materials for bathing.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

1. Bucket of water, bowl, soap, sponge, towel, etc.

 

 

2. Relevant pictures and charts.

3. Dolls.

 

METHOD OF TEACHING

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON 1 INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Review of the previous lesson – Reasons for Bathing | Materials Needed for Bathing Primary 2 (Basic 2) – Home Economics

 

QUICK EVALUATION

As state in the previous weekly assessment.

 

ASSIGNMENT

As stated in previous week lesson (lesson 2).

 

LESSON 2 – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

Teacher’s Activities – Using dolls, guide the pupils to demonstrate steps in taking bath.

 

 

Pupil’s Activities – Demonstrate steps in taking bath.

Teacher’s remark – You are just demonstrated steps in taking bath. Good job you. Ask the pupils to step the steps demonstrated. Write their points on the board.

 

STEPS IN TAKING BATH

The steps in taking a bathing are –

1. Get water.

2. Put soap in the sponge.

3. Wash the body.

4. Rinse the body with water.

5. Use dry towel to clean up.

 

QUICK EVALUATION

Ask pupils to state steps in taking a bath.

 

ASSIGNMENT

Find out –

1. When to wash our body.

2. What to do after washing our body.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Demonstrates steps in taking bath.

Pupil’s Activities – Demonstrate bathing using doll babies.

3. Asks pupils to state in taking bath.

4. Summarizes the lesson on the board.

Pupil’s  Activities – Copy as the teacher writes.

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
