2. draw out the staff showing lines and spaces.
3. draw out the staff showing only lines.
4. identify and draw ledger lines above and below the staff.

The pupils can identify and differentiate between lines and spaces of music staff.

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION
Music staff is the foundation upon which musical notes are placed. A staff is a set of lines and spaces which indicate the pitch of written notes.

The lines and spaces have First Seven Alphabetical Letter names as shown below –
ACRONYMS OF TREBLE CLEF (LINES) AND BASS CLEF (SPACES)
Treble Clef is notes on the lines (from bottom to top) are E, G, B, D, F.
E – G – B – D – F acronyms as Every Good Boy Deserves Fruit

Bass Clef is the notes in the spaces (from bottom to top) are F, A, C, E.
F – A – C – E acronyms as Face

Ledger lines are additional lines above and below the the lines and spaces of treble and bass clef.

LESSON 3 – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT (TEST)
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Teacher organizes the pupils into two or more groups depending on the size of the class.
3. Teacher displays the chart of treble and bass clef for pupils to draw.
4. Teacher guides the pupils as groups to identify and differentiate between the lines and spaces of treble and bass clef.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils identify and differentiate treble lines from bass lines.
5. Teacher uses the chart and the pupil’s relevant responses to introduce the lesson – Musical Staff – Lines and Spaces.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils pay attention to the lesson introduction to understand the concept of the lesson.
6. Teacher guides the pupils to memorize each lines and spaces of treble and bass clef with the acronyms from the alphabetical letters ABCDEFG.

7. Teacher uses chart showing additional lines above and below the music staff to introduce and discuss the ledger lines.
