LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils should have attained the following objectives –
1. observe and identify organ of hearing (ears).
2. listen and identify different sound from animals and other objects.
3. differentiate between sound made by human, animals and objects.
4. analyze the importance of sound in their communities.
5. draw organ of hearing.
ENTRY BEHAVIOR
The pupils can identify and differentiate between sounds.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of chart showing different sense of organs.

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION
Teacher organizes pupils in groups or pairs depending on the size of the class to identify, produce and imitate sounds,
1. SOUNDS OF ANIMALS
1. Dog
2. Goat
3. Elephant
4. Lion, etc.
2. SOUND OF ENGINES OR MACHINES
1. Motor
2. Motorcycle
3. Generator
4. Fridge, etc.
PRODUCING DIFFERENT SOUND OF ANIMALS OR MACHINES
1. Goat
2. Elephant
3. Dog
4. Lion
5. Generator, etc.
Hearing is the ability to discover sound.
Humans and other mammals have the ability to detect and recognize different sound from nature or other sound.
LESSON 2 – RECOGNIZE THE WORDS PRODUCED BY MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS
1. Plays common instrumental music, watch and listen to the response of the pupils.
2. Invites an instrumentalist or any staff that’s expert in paying trumpet.
3. Professional drummer or any staff that can beat talking drum.
IMPORTANCE OF SOUND
The importance of sound are as follows:
1. It is used communication.
2. It is used for sending signals.
3. It is used for control.
4. It is used as reminder.
5. It is used to detect life.

LESSON 3 – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT (TEST)
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Teacher organizes pupils in groups or pairs depending on the size of the class.
3. Teacher displays chart showing sense of hearing.
4. Teacher lets pupils identify sense of hearing and its uses.
Pupil’s Activities – State the uses of sense of hearing.
5. Teacher uses the chart and pupil’s responses to introduce the lesson and leads to identify sound made by man, animals, nature and objects.
Pupil’s Activities – Pay attention to the lesson introduction to understand the concept of the lesson.
6. Teacher guides pupils as groups or pairs to detect words produce by musical instruments.
Pupil’s Activities – Detect words produce by musical instruments.
7. Teacher asks pupils to produce sound produced by a baby, animals, machine, etc.
Pupil’s Activities – Identify various sounds and produce different sounds from their mouth and throat.
8 Teacher discuss the importance of sound.
Pupil’s Activities – Analyze the importance of sound in their communities.
9. Teacher summarizes the lessons on the board with appropriate lesson evaluation.
Pupil’s Activities – Participate actively in the summary of the lesson by responding to the questions and write as instructed.
