PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to:

1. name the two characteristics of forms of drama creation.

2. explain the characteristics of forms of drama creation.

3. make-up a drama.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON 

CHARACTERISTICS OF FORMS OF DRAMA CREATION 

The main characteristics of drama creation are –

Tragedy

This form of drama ends is misfortune. It does end well. For example – movie ending with the death of love ones, broken marriage, betrayer, etc.

Comedy

Comedy means something that is funny in our daily life. These include a joke, or a fantastic story that is full of nonsense, or an absurd appearance that makes us giggle, smile or laugh.

Tragi – comedy 

Tragedy ends on a sad note, while comedy ends happily. This form of drama combines the characteristics of both tragedy and comedy.

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Explains the characteristics of forms of drama creation.

Pupil’s Activities – Listen to the characteristics of forms of drama creation.

3. Groups the pupils and present a drama

Pupil’s Activities – Present a drama.

4. Writes out the characteristics of forms of drama on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – Copy the characteristics of forms of drama creation in the notebook.

CONCLUSION
