CONTENT OF THE LESSON

INTRODUCTION

Different security groups help to keep people and property safe in the neighbourhood. For example, Neighbourhood Watch members observe and report suspicious activities, while LNSC officers help to maintain safety and prevent crime.

They work with residents and other security agencies to protect the community and promote peace.

In this lesson, pupils will learn about Neighbourhood Watch and LNSC, their functions, and how they help to keep the neighbourhood safe.

LESSON 1 – MEANING OF NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH

Neighbourhood Watch is a group of people in a community who work together to keep their neighbourhood safe.

They watch out for suspicious activities, report crimes, and help prevent danger.

Neighbourhood Watch members do not replace the police. They support the police and other security agencies by reporting security problems and helping to keep the community safe.

They also work with other security agencies to keep neighbourhoods safe.
