This lesson builds on that knowledge by teaching pupils about important phone numbers used to contact security and emergency services during dangerous situations.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

INTRODUCTION

Emergencies such as accidents, fire outbreaks, crime, and other dangerous situations can happen at home, in school, on the road, or in the community.

Important phone numbers help us to quickly contact security agents and emergency workers for assistance when there is danger or an emergency.

In this lesson, pupils will learn about important phone numbers, their uses, and the proper ways of using emergency phone numbers.

LESSON 1 – MEANING OF IMPORTANT PHONE NUMBERS

Important phone numbers are special numbers we can call to get help during emergencies or dangerous situations.

They help us quickly contact people or agencies that can provide assistance.

IMPORTANT EMERGENCY PHONE NUMBERS IN NIGERIA

1. 112 – General emergency number for urgent help

2. 199 – Police emergency line

3. 122 – Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) emergency line

4. 767 – Lagos State emergency number

Note: Emergency numbers and their availability can vary by location and service provider. Pupils should learn the emergency numbers used in their state or community.

USES OF IMPORTANT PHONE NUMBERS

1. 112 – Used to request urgent emergency assistance.

2. 199 – Used to contact the Police for emergencies.

3. 122 – Used to contact FRSC for road-related emergencies.

4. 767 – Used to contact emergency services in Lagos State.

LESSON 2 – RULES FOR USING EMERGENCY PHONE NUMBERS

Pupils should:

SUMMARY

In this lesson, pupils learned that important phone numbers are special numbers used to contact security agencies and emergency services when help is needed.

They learned about important emergency numbers such as 112 for general emergencies, 199 for the Police, and 122 for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
