INTRODUCTION

UDHR stands for the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It is a milestone document that was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is an international document adopted by the United Nations General Assembly that enshrines the rights and freedoms of all human beings. The UDHR is a foundational international human rights instrument that sets out a common standard of rights and freedoms that should be protected and upheld for all individuals, regardless of their nationality, ethnicity, religion, gender, or any other status.

The UDHR consists of 30 articles that affirm the inherent dignity and equal rights of all human beings. It covers a wide range of civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights, including the right to life, liberty, and security of person, freedom from discrimination, right to education, right to work and just conditions of employment and protection of fundamental freedoms (such as freedom of speech, religion, and assembly).

The UDHR serves as a foundation for international human rights law and has inspired numerous treaties, conventions, and national laws aimed at protecting and promoting human rights around the world. It is considered a significant milestone in the advancement of human rights and has been instrumental in guiding the work of governments, organizations, and individuals in promoting and protecting the rights and dignity of all individuals.
