PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to mention the uses of water.

3. Mention the dangers of unclean water.

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils can state the different uses of water.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of pictures of people using water at home.

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON 1 – USES OF WATER

Teacher’s Activities – Display chart showing different people using water for different purposes for the pupils to study the chart and describe.

Pupil’s Activities – This woman is washing clothes. The boy is drinking water. The girl is boiling water, etc.

Teacher’s Remarks – Good job you for quick responses. The people on the chart used water for different purposes. Today, we are going to learn uses of water. Teacher asks the pupils, what are the uses of water. Note their points on the board.

 

USES OF WATER 

Water are used for different purposes, some of them are –

1. It is used for drinking.

2. It is used for cooking.

 

 

3. It is used washing clothes and plate.

4. It is used bathing.

5. It is used brushing teeth.

6. It is used for planting crops and flowers.

  • Places dry and wet soil in two two different containers and sow seeds of maize.
  • After some days, asks the pupils to describe their observations. That’s, what happened to seeds planted in each can.

7. It is used for flushing.

8. It is used for praying and baptism.

9. It is used for travelling.

 

LESSON 2 – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT (TEST) 

As stated in the performance objectives and workbook.

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Guides pupils to study and describe the pictures.

Pupil’s Activities – Follow the teacher’s guidance to study and describe the activities on the chart.

3. Asks pupil to mention the usage of water.

 

 

Pupil’s Activities – Name uses of water in their homes and at school.

4. Summarizes the lesson on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – Copy as the teacher writes.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
