PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils should have attained the following objectives –
1. Identify various rooms in a house.
2. State the uses of sitting room and bedroom.
3. Attempt 70% (and above) assessment test correctly.
ENTRY BEHAVIOURS
The pupils can identify and state the tools and equipments used for cleaning various rooms in a house or building.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:
1. Pictures of various functional rooms in a house.
2. A chart of different steps involved in a daily cleaning of various functional rooms in a house.
3. Brooms, ceiling brooms, duster, dust pan, refuse bin, flower in a small vase.
METHOD OF TEACHING
Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION
A room is one of the separate parts of the inside of a house. Different rooms have different facilities based on their Uses. There are many rooms in a house which serves different purpose –
1. Sitting room
2. Bedroom
3. Dining room
4. Kitchen
5. Food store
6. Bathroom
7. Toilet
SITTING ROOM
A sitting room is a room in a house where people are welcome, sit and relax. It is part of the living room with chairs and center table, electronics.
USES OF SITTING ROOM
1. It is used to welcome and entertain visitors.
2. It is used for relaxation.
3. It is used for family meetings.
4. It is used as reception.
LESSON 2 – BEDROOM
A bedroom is a room in a house with a bed and it mainly used for resting and sleeping.
Each of the bedroom has its bathroom/toilet. Some bedrooms shared bathroom/toilet except for the master bedroom.
USES OF BEDROOM
1. It is used as a place relax and rest.
2. It is used for sleeping.
3. It is used for keeping and safeguarding personal belongings.
4. It ensures privacy.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Teacher organizes the pupils in groups or pairs depending on the size of the class.
3..Teacher displays chart showing various functional rooms in a house.
4. Teacher asks pupils to identify and differentiate between sitting room and bedroom.
Pupil’s Activities – Identify and differentiate between sitting room and bedroom.
5. Teacher uses the pupil’s responses to introduce the lesson – uses of sitting room and bedroom.
Pupil’s Activities – The learners pay attention to the lesson introduction to understand the concept of the lesson.
6. Teacher leads a discussion on the uses of sitting room and bedroom.
Pupil’s Activities – The learners state the uses of sitting room and bedroom.
7. Teacher summarizes the lesson on the board using appropriate lesson evaluation.
