CONTENT OF THE LESSON

INTRODUCTION

Letter writing is a way of communicating with people through written messages. People write letters to share information, express feelings, give news, ask questions, or maintain relationships with others.

There are different types of letters, but at the Primary 4 level, pupils mainly learn informal letters. Informal letters are friendly letters written to people we know well, such as friends, parents, relatives, and neighbours.

A good letter should be clear, neat, and properly arranged. Every letter has important parts, such as the writer’s address, date, salutation, body of the letter, closing, and writer’s name.

In this lesson, pupils will learn how to write informal letters correctly and communicate their thoughts and feelings effectively through letter writi ng.
