1. state the meaning of computer output devices as components of computer hardware.

2. give examples of computer hardware.

3. attempt all questions on weekly assessment book.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON 

LESSON 1 – MEANING OF OUTPUT DEVICES

Output devices are parts of computer we use to display and  print our information from the computer.

It is also any part of computer hardware produces information into human readable form.

Output devices allow computers to communicate with users and with other devices.

 

EXAMPLES OF OUTPUT DEVICES

1. Monitor and projector

 

2. Speakers, headpiece and earpiece

3. Printer

4. Sound card

5. Video card

 

LESSON 2 – INTRODUCTORY QUESTIONS

1. ________ is used for printing. (printer)

2. ________ is used to hear music from computer. (speakers or headpiece).

3. ________ is used for viewing from computer. (projector and monitor).

4. ________ controls the output of sound signals, enabling devices like speakers and headphones to work. (sound card)

MEANING AND EXAMPLES OF PROCESSING DEVICES

Processing devices are the computer hardwares responsible for the processing of information within the computer system.

For examples,

1. CPU – Central Processing Unit

2. Ram – Random Access Memory

3. ROM – Read Only Memory

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions.

 

2. Displays a functional computer system (if available) or chart showing the component of computer hardware.

Pupil’s Activities – Identify the each part of component of computer hardware.

3. Uses the functional computer or the chart to introduce and discuss the meaning of computer output with appropriate examples.

Pupil’s Activities – Listen to the lesson introduction and participate actively in the class discussion.

4. Displays chart showing the drawing of different computer outputs.

Pupil’s Activities – Draw two or more computer outputs.

5. Summarizes each lesson on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate actively in the lesson summary and write as instructed m

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
