By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils should have attained the following objectives –

1. identify and describe a computer monitor.

2. identify different types of monitor.

The pupils are required to already have learned to computer.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of Computer System, Chart and Pictures

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

INTRODUCTION

MEANING OF MONITOR

A computer monitor is like television that we watch at home.

The monitor allow us to see what we doing on the computer.

It is rectangular shape and has a screen and buttons.

 

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MONITOR AND TELEVISION 

1. Monitor is connected to the system unit to work.

 

Television is connected to antenna, decoder and DVD to work.

2. Monitor do not have channel like Television.

3. Monitor receives signal only from system unit.

Television receives signals through antenna, decoder and DVD.

4. Monitor have a clear and sharp pictures than Television. 

 

TYPES OF MONITORS 

1. Monochrome monitor

It has only black and white.

 

2. Colour monitor

It has many colours.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Displays sample of different types of computer monitors (if available) or chart showing different types of computer monitors.

3. Lets pupils examine and identify the unique different among the computer monitors.

 

4. Uses the sample or chart to introduce and discuss the meaning and types of computer monitors.

5. Guides pupils to identify and differentiate between the types of monitors.

Pupil’s Activities – Differentiate between the types of monitors.

6. Summarizes the lesson on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – Copy as instructed.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
