10. Collaboration – Multiple people can work on the same project simultaneously.
DISADVANTAGES OF COMPUTER NETWORKS
The disadvantages of computer network are as follows:
1. Virus Attack – Viruses can spread easily between computers.
2. Security Problems – Hackers may steal information.
3. Cost – Setting up a network can be expensive.
4. Network Failure – If the network fails, work may stop.
5. Distraction – Students may play games instead of studying.
6. Need for Skilled People – Experts are needed to manage the network.
ASSIGNMENT – Find out the meaning of scratch programming.
LESSON 3 – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT (TEST)
Revision – A computer network connects computers to share resources and communicate. It is used for file sharing, communication, and internet access. Advantages – fast communication, cost savings, collaboration. Disadvantages – security risks, cost, network failures.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson based on what has been taught or learned by the pupils.
2. Teacher organizes the pupils in groups depending on the size of the class.
3. Teacher displays charts showing different types of computer network for the groups to identify and explain each type of computer network.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils identify and explain each type of computer network.
4. Teacher uses the chart and the pupils relevant response to introduce the lesson and leads the pupils to practical discussion on the advantages and disadvantages of computer network.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils pay attention to the lesson introduction, participate actively in class discussions on the advantages and disadvantages of computer network.
5. Teacher uses chart showing where computer network are used to guides the pupils to identify and explains the uses of computer network in everyday life.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils identify, understand and appreciate the uses of computer network in everyday life.
6. Teacher summarizes the lesson on the board with appropriate evaluation.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the summary of the lesson by responding correctly to most of the questions write as instructed.
CONCLUSION
To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
