PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives –

1. state the reason for safety in the school.

2. mention some steps to ensure safety in the classroom.

3. identify safe an unsafe objects in the classroom.

 

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils can identify sharp objects as harmful objects.

 

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of chart showing a boy and a girl.

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

MEANING OF SAFETY

Safety means to be free from any form of harm or danger.

 

HOW TO ENSURE SAFETY IN THE SCHOOL 

1. Do not fight.

2. Do not push one another.

3. Do not play with fire, matches and blade.

4. Do not go near the electric socket.

5. Do not pull off your school scandal.

6. If you help, ask your teacher.

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson based on what he/she taught or what the pupils have learned.

2. Teacher displays chart showing some of the harmful objects such as knife, blade, pressing iron, broken bottles, etc.

3. Teacher uses the chart to explain how we can ensure safety in the school.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils understand the needs for safety in the school.

4. Teacher summarizes the lesson on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the summary.

 

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
