Caring for Computer Users

 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and be able to –

1. Enumerate ways of caring for computer users.

2. Demonstrate correct sitting posture.

3. Arrange chairs and computer systems.

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOR:

Misuse of Computer System

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

computer system, ups, stabilizer, monitor, table, fan, air conditionings, hard disk, Neat duster, Cotton, Wool, Furniture, Spirit, Antivirus CD, etc.

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

LESSON ONE – INTRODUCTION

Human ware refers to the human beings that use the system. In other words, the users of the computer system are the end – users and professional alike.

 

CARING FOR COMPUTER USERS

1. Sitting position/posture.

2. Using anti – glare protector.

3. Maintaining dust free.

4. Replace faulty components.

5. Ventilation

 

LESSON TWO – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT 

As stated in performance objectives or lesson evaluation. 

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions.

2. Demonstrates ways of caring for the computer users.

Pupil’s Activities – Watch teacher demonstrate how care for computer users.

3. Guide pupils to clean the system using neat duster.

Pupil’s Activities – Clean the computer system in their school.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate in caring for the computers in the school computer laboratory.

Pupil’s Activities – Listen to the teacher, ask and answer questions, participate in class discussions.

4. Explains ways of protecting computers using password and antivirus.

Pupil’s Activities – Examine antivirus packages and how it works.

Pupil’s Activities – Listen to the teacher, ask and answer questions, participate in class discussions.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
