Lesson One – Parallel and Perpendicular Lines
Lesson Two – Triangles and Properties of Triangle
Lesson Three – Quadrilateral and Properties of Quadrilateral
Lesson Four – Quantitative Reasoning
Lesson Five – Revision and Test
TIME – 40 Minutes each.
By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:
1. identify parallel and perpendicular lines.
2. state some properties of triangles.
3. state some properties of quadrilateral.
4. solve some quantitative aptitude problems.
Plane shapes in mathematics are any closed, flat, 2-dimensional shapes. They include triangle, quadrilateral and polygon. Plane shapes are made of straight lines, curved lines, or both straight and curved lines.
In this lesson, the pupils will learn what plane shapes are and explore their different types and properties.
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:
2 and 3 dimensional shapes.
Models of: equilateral, isosceles, right angled triangles, square and rectangle.
Plane shapes are all around us. These stop signs (all traffic signs are plane shapes), a sheet of paper, a paper plate, a stamp, etc. There are many kinds of plane shapes.
In this lesson, we will focus on the following – triangles squares and rectangles.
