PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils should have attained the following objectives –

1. identify computer parts.

2. name parts of a computer.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of a functional computer or chart showing computer.

 

METHOD OF TEACHING

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION 

A computer is an electronic device that accept information, process it and produce result.

 

PARTS OF A COMPUTER 

A computer has many parts which are –

 

1. Monitor

2. System Unit

3. Keyboard

4. Mouse

5. Speakers

6. Printer

 

LESSON 2 – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Displays a functional computer.

3. Lets the pupils identify computer and identity different parts of a computer.

Pupil’s Activities – Examine and identify different parts of a computer.

4. Arranges computer parts on a table.

Pupil’s Activities – Touch and identify the mouse, monitor, printer and speakers.

5. Provides the pictures of computer parts and guides pupils and guides pupils to match the pictures with the real objects.

Displays the mouse, printer and speakers on the table.

6. Provides the pictures of the printer and speakers and guides pupils to match the pictures with the real objects.

 

Pupil’s Activities – Draw and colour the pictures of the identified parts.

7. Summarizes the lesson on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – Copy as the teacher instructed.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
