CONTENT OF THE LESSON
LESSON 1, WEEK 1 – WEEK 6
WEEK 1 | WEEK 2 – LIVING LIVING THINGS AT HOME AND IN THE SCHOOL
Living things are things that are alive. Living things breath in and out. They need air, food or water. They can move, grow and reproduce. For example, people, plants and animals.
Anything that walk, eat and drink, talk or make sound, grow, defecate and die are living things.
LESSON EVALUATION
Ask pupils to –
1. Mention 5 living things in the school compound.
2. State 5 living things at compound.
WEEK 3 – NON LIVING AT HOME AND IN THE SCHOOL
Non living things are things that are not alive. They do not need air, food or water. They do not move.
They do not grow and do not reproduce. For example, books, chairs and desks, etc.
LESSON EVALUATION
Ask the pupils state 5 non living things in the classroom.
WEEK 4 | WEEK 5 | WEEK 6 – EXPLORING THE ENVIRONMENT
Exploring is the walking around in a new environment to learn, search or discover new things. Exploring the environment involved walking along the roads and there are different types of road.
Road can be a private roads, community roads, district roads, state roads or federal roads. These roads depend on who built the roads.
LESSON EVALUATION
Ask pupils to –
1. Explain what exploring the environment means.
2. State 5 types of roads.
3. Mention 5 things that can found when exploring the roads.
LESSON 2, WEEK 7 – WEEK 11
WEEK 7 | WEEK 8 – COLOURS AND ITS USES
Colour is a appearance of things in a unique reflection.
LESSON EVALUATION
Ask pupils to identify colours on some collected objects or logo.
WEEK 9 | WEEK 10 – TRAFFIC LIGHTS AND COLOURS
Road traffic lights sign are lights used to control the movement of traffic. They are placed on roads. The different colors of lights tell drivers what to do. For example, Red – Go, Yellow – READY TO GO and Green – GO
LESSON EVALUATION
State the functions of each of the following road traffic signs – Red, Yellow and Green.
WEEK 11 – ROAD MAKINGS AND COLOURS
Road markings are lines that define the directions and activities of road users. There are two (2) major colours used on the roads – Black and White.
LESSON EVALUATION
Ask pupils to mention 2 major road marking colours.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Discuss each lessons of first term’s work.
Pupil’s Activities – Active participation in the class discussion.
3. Summarizes the lesson on the board.
Pupil’s Activities – Copy as the teacher writes.
CONCLUSION
To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
