PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. observe road traffic light and identify their colours.

2. draw road traffic signs.

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils can identify different colours.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

1. identify and state the various road traffic lights by their colours.

2. draw road traffic signs.

 

METHOD OF TEACHING

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

LESSON ONE – INTRODUCTION

Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Displays the chat of Traffic Lights  for to and describe.

 

 

MEANING OF TRAFFIC LIGHTS SIGN

Road traffic lights sign are lights used to control the movement of traffic.

They are placed on roads.

The different colors of lights tell drivers what to do.

 

ROAD TRAFFIC LIGHTS SIGN AND COLOUR 

1. Red

2. Yellow

3. Green

 

LESSON TWO – DRAW AND COLOUR TRAFFIC LIGHTS 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Teacher organizes the pupils in groups depending on the size of the class.

3. Teacher displays chart showing traffic light signs for the pupils as groups to identify the lights with their colours.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils identify each traffic light colour.

4. Teacher uses the chart and the pupil’s responses to introduce the lesson and leads a class discussion on the road traffic light signs.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils pay attention to the lesson introduction and participate actively in the class discussion.

5. Teacher summarizes the lesson on the board by using appropriate lesson evaluation.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the summary of the lesson by responding to most of the questions and write as instructed.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
