1. Walking Along and Across the Roads Safety

2. Crossing Different Roads Safely

 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

demonstrate walking along the road and crossing the road safety.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

1. Exploring the different types of roads

2. Resourceful person from roads management

3. Other staff must involve in these activities. 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON ONE –  PRACTICAL DEMONSTRATION ON HOW TO WALK ALONG AND ACROSS THE DIFFERENT ROADS 

1. Truck C Roads

2. Truck B Roads

3. Truck A Roads

 

LESSON TWO – PRACTICAL DEMONSTRATION ON HOW TO SAFETY CROSS DIFFERENT TYPES OF ROADS 

1. Truck C Roads

2. Truck B Roads

3. Truck A Roads

Note – Tells the pupils to always ask for help (parents, brother or the road officers not from strangers) when crossing busy roads in Lagos especially when there is no pedestrian bridge.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Takes pupils for a walk along and across different types of road and demonstrate walking safely along and across the road.

Pupil’s Activities – Demonstrate walking along and across the roads.

3. Demonstrates how to safely cross different types of road.

Pupil’s Activities – Demonstrate safely cross the roads.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.

 

LESSON EVALUATION 

Pupils to:

1. demonstrates how to walk and cross a road safely.
