LEARNING OUTCOME 

By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

1. explain how family size affects the demand for more crops;

2. differentiate between food and cash crops;

3. discuss how family labour size affects food (crop) production;

4. mention examples of storage facilities for preserving crops yield.

 

RATIONALE

A crop is any useful plant intentionally grown for its useful value. Plants grown on a large scale are called crops.

Family needs for food and cash crops is a result of the size of the family.

As big as the family is so the farm produces are.

A small family cannot produce or work in a farmland as big sized family.

 

 

LEARNING MATERIALS 

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

1. Sample/Chart showing food and cash crops.

2. Posters and pictures of harvesters, storage facilities (e.g. silos, barns) and transport facilities.

 

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE

The bigger the family the more month to feed and farm produces are produced. The pupils can identify some of the food and cash crops.
