THEME – LEARNING ABOUT OUR ENVIRONMENT 

 PREVIOUS LESSON – FIRST TERM EXAMINATION 

TOPIC – AIR AS PART OF OUR SURROUNDING 

 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

  1. demonstrate that air exists.
  2. state the importance of air.
  3. create air current by blowing with the mouth or using paper fan.

 

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

We breathe in and out air.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

  1. Newspaper
  2. Paper fan
  3. Hand fan

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

AIR AS PART OF OUR SURROUNDING 

DEMONSTRATES THE EXISTENCE OF AIR USING HAND, MOUTH OR STANDING FAN

 

IMPORTANCE OF AIR 

  1. in breathing
  2. cooling the body,
  3. moving things.

 

 

PRESENTATION

  • To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
  1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
  2. Demonstrates the existence of air using paper or hand fan.
  3. Pupil’s Activities – Create air currents by blowing with the mouth or using hand paper fan.
  4. Pupil’s Activities – Create air current by blowing with the mouth or using hand or paper fan.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.

 

 

LESSON EVALUATION 

Pupils to:

  1. show that air exists.
  2. mention the importance of air.
