By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –
1. explain the meaning of ICT gadget.
2. identify common ICT gadgets.
Operate common ICT gadgets.
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:
1. sets of flashcards of names of common IT gadgets,
2. Pictures of common IT gadgets, markers,
3. Real Objects (teacher can bring mobile phone and remote control to the class where available), Cellotape,etc.
METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
LESSON ONE – INTRODUCTION
ICT are the initials of Information and Communication Technology. This is an important part of modern living. ICT gadgets transmit and receive information. For example, mobile phone, television, radio, etc.
They operate by using energy, usually electricity from either mains sockets or batteries. They make our life easier and perform specific functions.
MEANING OF ICT GADGETS
ICT Gadgets are devices used for transmitting and receiving information.
enable individuals and organisations (companies, governments, and educational establishments) to communicate it to one another quickly and efficiently.
Pupil’s Activities – Asks pupils to state any devices used for sending and receiving information.
LESSON TWO – COMMON ICT GADGETS
In every home, in every school or workplace, you can find at least a couple of ICT gadgets. Examples of common IT gadgets include:
1. remote control
2. mobile phone
3. digital camera
4. DVD player
5. MP3 player
7. television, etc.
Teacher’s remark – We depend on small technology devices that capture information and that also enable individuals and organisations (companies, governments, and educational establishments) to communicate it to one another quickly and efficiently.
LESSON THREE – WEEKLY ASSESSMENTS
As stated in behavioral objectives or lesson evaluation.
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Guides pupils to identify and define ICT Gadgets.
Pupil’s Activities – Listen to the teacher and follow he/her leads.
- To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
