**PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES **

By the end of the lesson, most of the students should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to make neat freehand sketches of lines curves and irregular shapes.

**ENTRY BEHAVIOUR **

The students can make freehand sketching.

**INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS**

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of HB pencil, drawing sheet, sharpener, eraser, board and tee-square.

**CONTENT OF THE LESSON **** **

### LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION

Drawing is a way of representing an object on paper using pencil and other drawing instruments. This drawing communicates how something works or constructed.

The instruments used for drawing are tee square, set square, compass, French curves, etc. When some of these instruments (pencil and eraser) are used in/for drawing, the drawing is called freehand drawing.

### MEANING/DEFINITION OF FREEHAND SKETCHING

Freehand sketching can be defined as a drawing without using measuring instruments.

The drawing is basically drawn with the help of basic technical drawing instruments and materials such as pencil, cleaner and drawing sheet or paper.

Freehand drawing is the blueprint of the actual drawing or object. It is very quick and save save time.

Differentiate freehand sketching from other drawing.

### ASSIGNMENT

Sketch a straight line and a circle.

### LESSON 2 – BASIC FREEHAND TECHNIQUES OF DRAWING
