PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, most pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –
1. carry out some action following teacher’s instructions.
2. suggest name of members of the class.
3. circle action pictures.
4. describe pictures with actions.
5. carry out some actions individually.
ENTRY BEHAVIOUR
The pupils can follow the teacher’s instructions such as sit, stand walk, etc.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of –
1. Charts showing different actions.
2. Chart of Letter A – Z.
METHOD OF TEACHING
Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES
Teacher’s Activities/Pupil’s Response – Give instructions that require the children’s responses.
For examples,
1. Stand
2. Sit
3. Look
- Hold chart of A – Z for the children to follow the action of looking.
4. Read
- Provide chart of A – Z or write A – Z for children follow the action of reading.
5. Talk
6. Walk
DOING WORD – SAY
Teacher’s Activities – Point to a child and ask others to say his/her name.
Pupil’s Activities – Ade, Rofia, John, Deborah, etc.
Teacher’s Remark – Comments and give a great cheer for active participation.
LESSON 2 – CHARTS DESCRIPTION
Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Display charts for the pupils to identify and describe the doing words on the charts.

DOING WORDS
Teacher’s Actions and Pupils Response – Stand, sit, read, drink etc. for the children to identify and say what you are doing.
REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT
As stated in performance objectives or lesson evaluation.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Gives instructions that require quick responses.

3. Guides pupils to identify the doing words on the charts.

CONCLUSION
To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
