PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and be able to:

1. observe and identify organ of hearing (ears).

2. listen and recognise various sound from objects, animals and people.

3. mention different objects and animals that make sound.

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

1. Chart showing different sense of organs.

2. Woods

3. Iron

4. Record of different sound of animals

5. Voice of the school’s staff

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

LESSON ONE – IDENTIFICATION OF SOUND OF OBJECTS 

Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Asks the pupils to close their eyes, listen and identify to the sound make by two objects –

  • 2 Woods
  • 2 irons

Repeat these activities with school’s Bell, whistler, drum, etc.

 

IDENTIFICATION OF SOUND OF ANIMALS

Teacher’s activities – Plays the sound of different animals as in Week 5 – The Sense of Sound or Hearing – The Ears (Primary 2)

 

LESSON TWO – IDENTIFICATION OF SOUND OF PEOPLE 

Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Asks the pupils to close their eyes, listen and identify sound of a person that’s greeting.

Invites some of the school’s staff including the headteacher to say, good morning to children.

Records the names of the staff recognised.

IMITATE THE SOUND OF PEOPLE 

Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Asks the pupils to imitate the voice of all staff recognised.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Makes pupils to listen to and identify various sound make by objects, animals and people.

Pupil’s Activities –

  • Identify various Sounds make by objects, animals and people.
  • Produce the sound make by certain people.

3. Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Draw sense of sound – ears.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
