PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils should have attained the following objectives –

1. Identify cut shapes of different sizes.

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils can identify, draw and colour shapes of different sizes.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of real objects of different shapes and sizes, pencils, drawing books, pictures of objects showing different shapes and sizes.

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION 

Drawing is a form of visual art.

 

CUTTING SHAPES OF DIFFERENT SIZES

PART 1

Cut out circles and triangles of different sizes.

 

LESSON 2 – CONTINUATION

PART 2 

Cut out squares and rectangles of different sizes.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Displays sample of cut circles, triangles, squares and rectangles.

3. Lets pupils identify each shape by name.

4. Asks pupils to arrange each of shapes from the smallest to the biggest and from the biggest to the smallest. Ru

Pupil’s Activities – Identify each of the shapes by name and arrange as instructed.

5. Guides to cut circles, triangles, squares and rectangles.

Pupil’s Activities – Carefully cut shapes of different sizes.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
